These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Leave Your Legacy website and application (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], trading as "Leave Your Legacy", based in South Africa ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at support@wovenlegacy.app.
2. The Service
Leave Your Legacy is a private AI biographer. You capture memories by chatting, writing or recording voice notes, and the Service organises them and weaves them into a life story. Some features use artificial intelligence to transcribe, summarise and generate text. AI output can contain errors and is provided to assist you — you are responsible for reviewing and editing your own story.
3. Eligibility & your account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to: break the law; upload content you have no right to share; infringe anyone's privacy or intellectual property; attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the Service; or abuse the AI features (for example, automated bulk requests). We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.
5. Your content
Your memories, recordings and life story are yours. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you (including using third-party AI and cloud providers described in our Privacy Policy). We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train third-party AI models. You can export or request deletion of your content at any time.
6. Subscriptions & billing
The Service offers a Free plan and a paid Premium plan (see Pricing). Paid subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle, our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. This means Paddle is the seller of record for your purchase and handles payment and applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the Paddle customer portal (accessible from the app) or by contacting us. Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. Fair use of AI features
To keep the Service sustainable and prevent abuse, AI features (chat, transcription and biography generation) are subject to a reasonable monthly fair-use allowance, even on plans described as "unlimited". If you reach the allowance you will be asked to try again later. Written memories are not limited.
8. Availability & changes
We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change or remove features over time. We may update these Terms; if we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you, and continued use after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the South African Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to your non-excludable statutory rights.
